Europeans want at least four points of US "peace plan" changed, will meet in Geneva on Sunday, Bild says

Bild reports that representatives of leading European countries will meet US officials in Geneva on 23 November, as they disagree with at least four points of the Trump team's "peace plan".

Details: The Europeans plan to present their own proposals regarding the "peace plan".
According to the publication, at least four points of the plan will have to be amended.
Europeans disagree with the US proposals on territorial division . The plan presumes that Ukraine will fully hand over strategically important regions such as Donbas and Crimea to Russia.
The proposal to reduce the size of the Ukrainian army , which is already far smaller than Russia's, is also likely to be discussed.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz also wants to make it clear to Trump's team that the security guarantees Russia is supposed to provide to Ukraine may turn out to be worthless.
What particularly irritates Merz are Trump's plans regarding frozen Russian assets (worth around €300 billion). Trump not only wants to channel €100 billion of American investments into Russia – with the US receiving a 50% stake – but also to use these funds to create a new US-Russia investment mechanism.
Merz has been one of the leading advocates for the EU to use a significant share of these funds (€140 billion) to finance a large loan for Ukraine.
Manfred Weber, head of the European People's Party in the European Parliament, has also called for substantial changes to the US peace plan: "This is a historic time. This is not about Ukraine – it's about the security of all of us."
"Everyone wants peace, but it must be lasting. There are three issues. First, Ukraine must be able to decide sovereignly whether it should cede territory; this must not be imposed on it. Second, Ukraine must be strengthened militarily, not weakened. And third, we must turn the EU into a European NATO. We can no longer rely unconditionally on the United States," Weber said.
Background: Leaders of European states and EU institutions, as well as G7 countries (excluding the US), have expressed disagreement with parts of the US-proposed "peace plan" for Ukraine, but agreed to take the draft as a basis and expressed readiness to work on it jointly.
