Ukrainian soldiers killed in Russian strike on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian forces launched a combined missile and drone attack on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on 1 November. The attack resulted in fatalities and injuries among soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Details: The strike targeted multiple hromadas, including Nikopol, Pishchansk, Pokrovsk, Marhanetsk and Chervonohryhorivsk. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
Quote: "Unfortunately, Ukrainian soldiers were killed and wounded as a result of the Russian combined strike.
At this stage, the relevant law enforcement agencies are working on verifying the circumstances related to compliance with and implementation of the orders of the commander-in-chief and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These include the timeliness of missile threat alerts, the prohibition on placing personnel and holding briefings or assemblies in open areas, and restrictions on stationing personnel in unauthorised locations."
Background:
- On the evening of 1 November, Russia attacked the Samar district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killing two people and injuring seven.
- The following day, the death toll from the Russian strike on the Samar district rose to four, with two children among the killed.
