However, despite these measures, incidents like this can sometimes occur,” Pletenchuk emphasized.At the same time, Dumska reports that the vessel is the NS PRIDE bulk carrier, flying the Belize flag. The accident occurred on the morning of August 31 in the waters near the port of Chornomorsk. According to sources, an unexploded part of a Shahed drone shot down the day before detonated under the ship.The bulk carrier, built in 1988, is 95 meters long, 16 meters wide, and has a cargo capacity of 3,376 tons. At the time of the incident, it was sailing without cargo. Despite the explosion, the hull remained intact: the sailors sealed the breach themselves, and no water leakage was recorded.Two separate accidents occurred in one day on the Odesa coast, claiming three lives on August 10. This marks the second such incident this summer on the Black Sea.
