Farewell ceremony takes place for mother, toddler killed in Russian missile attack on Kyiv

Hundreds of people attended to pay their respects — neighbors, friends, and residents of Kyiv. Flowers and children’s toys were brought to honor the victims. Friends of the family told Vechirniy Kyiv that Angelina’s father, Nadiia’s husband, had been working the night shift when the tragedy occurred. When he returned home the next morning, he found their house burning and in ruins. Despite his desperate search, he could not find his wife and daughter — only rubble and fire remained.A relative shared that the couple had been hoping for a child for five years, and in 2022, amid the full-scale war, their daughter was finally born.“Angelina brought incredible joy into their lives. She was an exceptionally gentle and kind child — a true little angel. We all loved her,” the relative said.Before going on maternity leave, Nadiia worked as a restaurant manager. She graduated in 2021 from the Kyiv Professional College of Tourism and Hotel Management. In the early hours on August 28, Russian forces launched a drone and missile strike on Ukraine. In Kyiv, the attack caused civilian casualties, with 25 people killed, including 4 children.
