RBC-Ukraine reported the information, citing its own source.According to the publication, the U.S. views the future agreement more broadly than just a document to end the war."The Americans perceive this potential agreement not just as a deal to end the war, which is meant to put a stop to the armed conflict. They see it in a more long-term perspective, as something that should ensure long-term peace, investment attractiveness, and prosperity. And this would be a success for the Trump team," the source explained. The U.S. also emphasizes that without such guarantees, the future development of Ukraine is impossible."They say: we understand that without security guarantees, there will be no realization of this potential," the publication's source added. At the same time, the Ukrainian side perceives the issue of security guarantees much more deeply—as key to the future of the state. Specifically, for Kyiv, this issue is of an existential nature and is directly linked to the continued existence of Ukraine.Despite the differences in approaches, both sides agree that security guarantees are a necessary component of a future agreement. However, the security guarantees were not discussed in detail during the last round of negotiations."Were the guarantees discussed in detail today? No. Therefore, I would not classify this as one of the problematic issues that were discussed," the source summarized.During the trilateral diplomatic consultations between representatives of Ukraine, the U.S., and European countries in Geneva, which took place on November 23, 2025, the American Secretary of the Army, Dan Driscoll, threatened his counterparts with the possible loss by Ukrainians of further "cities and disputed areas."
