Ukrainian and Latvian foreign ministers jointly brief EU counterparts on peace process

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and his Latvian counterpart Baiba Braže have addressed the EU Foreign Affairs Council to brief European allies on the current momentum in the peace process.

Details: Braže is currently visiting Kyiv. She and Sybiha addressed the EU Foreign Affairs Council online to brief ministers on the latest momentum in the peace process, recent developments and "work on doable solutions".
Sybiha also informed EU ministers that Russia continues to terrorise civilians and critical infrastructure despite ongoing efforts to reach peace.
Sybiha urged his EU counterparts to continue strengthening support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia, including through the EU's 20th sanctions package and a decision to fully use frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's defence and recovery.
Background:
- Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy said that the European Union's contribution to security guarantees for Ukraine will consist of funding, training and support for the defence industry
- She also stated that there were no concessions or commitments from Russia in the first draft of the "peace plan" for Ukraine published by the media.
