Details : In Russia's Voronezh Oblast, Governor Alexander Gusev said the power supply had been cut off in parts of the regional capital following a strike on Voronezh's Thermal Power Plant-1.
According to Gusev, the temperature of the central heating in residential buildings has also been lowered "for technical reasons".
The plant was hit with several missiles: one struck the heat generation building containing turbines, and two others hit the boiler house, damaging its roof, outer structure and key thermal equipment.
In Belgorod, the energy and heating systems have also been affected by missile attacks that have left around 20,000 residents of the city and region without power. The missiles struck the Luch Thermal Power Plant, which had been the only remaining thermal power station in the regional centre following the earlier destruction of gas turbine units at the Belgorod Thermal Power Plant.
On the evening of 8 November, a drone strike caused a fire at a power facility in Russia's Kursk Oblast, cutting off electricity to 10 settlements.
On the morning of 9 November, several districts of Taganrog in Russia's Rostov Oblast were also left without power.
Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova said the power outage had been caused by the "emergency shutdown of a high-voltage line", but gave no reason for this. Locals reported hearing an explosion, "then the lights went out and the water was cut off".
Background : In Taganrog, the emergency disconnection of a high-voltage power line has led to power cuts across several districts of the city.
