Zelenskyy says Belarusian leader will pay for taking part in Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he does not believe recent attempts made by self-proclaimed Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko to appear sympathetic towards the Ukrainian people, as Russia invaded Ukraine from Belarusian territory on the morning of 24 February 2022.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Lukashenko should not forget, because now he's become very talkative in the media, trying to show how kind he is to our people. We don't need his kindness that came with missiles at 04:00. If he thinks that with his words he can talk our memory away... we are young people, we remember everything very well, and he will still pay for what he did – namely, enabling the offensive launched from his territory. The start of the full-scale war came to us from Belarus. No one will forget that."
Details: Zelenskyy made these remarks in the context of declaring that Ukraine will never agree to peace talks with Russia on Belarusian territory, as that country aids the Kremlin's aggression.
Background: On 6 November, Lukashenko attempted to show "sympathy" for Ukrainians because of the war and invited them to come and work in Belarus.
Quote from Lukashenko: "Come, Ukrainians! We will gladly welcome you. Your families and children will have the same life as Belarusians... For us, Ukrainians are a blessing. They are hardworking people who understand us and speak the same language... But trouble has come to our neighbour's home. I think we'll sort this problem out."
