Mark Feygin, a Russian opposition politician, stated this on Espreso TV."Putin does not think strategically, this must be understood. Everyone thinks that he has a plan for a century, how to develop Russia, how to return it as an empire, but he thinks in operational segments. So Putin is now acting reactively. Unexpectedly, the consequence of his trickery with Budapest was, if not Tomahawks, then also a painful reaction that Putin did not expect from Trump, that's for sure. Anyway, there will be some pause, some 50 days, or 10 days, or 100, or 2-3 weeks. But not so reactively. He thought that he would do well until the end: he would continue the offensive, destroy Ukraine's energy, plunge Kyiv and other cities into darkness and cold, and he would get away with it. But here the situation became more complicated, and he now has to solve the question of what to do, how to deceive once again. And he sends Lavrov to say that they agree to the Anchorage line. And what is this line? It's the same as it was: stop the fire for 30 days and start negotiations with Zelenskyy, not with Trump, and start negotiating. Putin cannot agree to this, he will not agree to this," Feygin explained. The politician noted that the Russian dictator will seriously consider negotiations if Ukraine still receives American Tomahawk missiles, and sanctions against Russia will only intensify."To deceive once again, to try to cheat, they are ready to move within the line of our presidents in Anchorage, Lavrov declares, and this is again a delusion. When will this end? But if you give Tomahawks and strengthen sanctions, he will go to real negotiations, and not these zigzags, maneuvers and manipulations," he added. Also, as Feygin emphasized, this will not only force Putin to negotiate, but to act. Because, if he does not adhere to the agreements, the consequences for him could be much worse."This does not mean that the war will stop immediately, it is wrong to say so, and it would be imprudent to think so. But it is absolutely certain that real negotiations will begin - not feigned ones, with attempts to step aside, to portray something and not do it. No, he will talk for real and will do something in accordance with these agreements, understanding that if he does not do so, the consequences will be much worse," the politician concluded. On October 23, the American president stated that he had canceled the planned summit and expressed hope that the Russian dictator and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would become more reasonable.Later, the U.S. leader noted that he was ready to meet with Putin on the condition that he was confident in the possibility of reaching an agreement on ending the war in Ukraine.
