Details: Maduro's requests to Moscow were set out in a letter that was to be delivered to Russian ruler Vladimir Putin by a "senior aide".
The documents also state that Maduro wrote to Chinese President Xi Jinping, requesting "expanded military cooperation" between the two countries to counter "the escalation between the US and Venezuela".
The documents further reveal that Transport Minister Ramón Celestino Velásquez recently coordinated the delivery of military equipment and drones from Iran and was planning a visit to the country.
He told an Iranian official that Venezuela needed "passive detection equipment", "GPS scramblers" and "almost certainly drones with 1,000 km range", according to the documents.
