He made the announcement on his Telegram channel after receiving a report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.According to Zelenskyy, the fiercest fighting is now taking place near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, where Russia has deployed its largest forces. He said Russia is suffering its heaviest losses there.“In the first eight months of this year alone, Russia has lost more than 290,000 soldiers killed or seriously wounded along the front line. Most of these losses were in the Donetsk region, and yet they still failed to achieve their goals. Stabilization continues in several areas. I am grateful to every unit that strengthens Ukraine’s ‘exchange fund’ — we see results every week. Thank you,” the president noted.Zelenskyy added that he also discussed the situation in Zaporizhzhia, as well as in the border regions of Sumy and Kharkiv, with Syrskyi. He confirmed that Ukraine is preparing new, long-range strikes against Russia.“We will keep taking the actions needed to defend Ukraine. Our forces are ready. New deep strikes have already been planned,” Zelenskyy said.In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russians struck Pokrovsk, over 100 km from Dnipro, for the first time using a new type of attack drone. Previously, such weapons had not been used at this range.
