The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated this in its report.Analysts believe that Russian leadership used the preparations for the US-Russia presidential summit in Alaska as a period to stockpile drones and missiles. During this time, attacks on Ukraine were limited to create the impression that Moscow was acting as a “responsible negotiator” in dialogue with the U.S. administration.“Russia will likely escalate its strikes against Ukraine in the coming weeks to leverage its replenished missile and drone stockpiles and degrade Ukrainian energy infrastructure ahead of the coming winter,” the ISW report states.Analysts emphasize that Moscow is trying not only to exhaust Ukraine’s air defenses but also to undermine the country’s ability to maintain a stable heating season. On the evening of Friday, August 29, the Russian occupying army launched attack drones against Ukraine, and by the morning of August 30, used missiles for the strike. As a result of Russia’s combined attack in Zaporizhzhia, one person was killed and more than 20 were reported injured. Strikes were also recorded in Dnipropetrovsk region.
