Senior Lieutenant Dmytro Pelykh, head of the communications department of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade, stated this on Hromadske Radio.“We are seeing signs of the summer offensive along the entire line of contact, including in the Zaporizhzhia region—in the areas of Kamianske, Orikhiv, and Robotyne. The enemy has rotated certain units that were stationed in these directions and had essentially been rendered combat ineffective,” the serviceman said.According to him, several regiments have been deployed to each sector.“These are one or two regiments that, as of two or three weeks ago, were 90% staffed,” he added.According to Dmytro Pelykh, the Russians send small assault groups to Ukrainian positions every day. They have also tried to use mechanized equipment.“They are bringing in tanks, IFVs, as well as their usual vehicles—buggies and motorcycles,” the soldier said.He clarified that the Russian troops attempt mechanized assaults when the small assault groups do not achieve the desired results. The invaders expect that if Ukrainian defenders see such forces, they will retreat.“But our guys are holding on and doing their job. In our area of responsibility, the offensive on Mala Tokmachka, aimed at encircling Orikhiv, ended in failure,” Dmytro Pelykh reported. The serviceman added that in two hours of repelling the assault, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 38 invaders and wounded three more. They also destroyed the enemy vehicles. He also stated that the Russians have had “tactical successes” near Kamianske. According to Dmytro Pelykh, if Kamianske is occupied, the Russians will have more opportunities to terrorize Zaporizhzhia with artillery.
