Defence Intelligence of Ukraine on 18 January burned down a 3M62U locomotive at the St.

Details DIU officers reported the destruction of a locomotive hauling railway carriages loaded with munitions and supplies for Russian forces.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reports that the locomotive cannot be restored due to the extensive fire damage.
Background Unidentified persons blew up a railway track in Bryansk Oblast of the Russian Federation in the spring of 2023, causing locomotive and freight cars to derail. On the night of 2930 December, Ukrainian resistance troops caused severe damage to two Russian locomotives at Dmitrov station and Lobnya railway yard in Moscow Oblast.
The locomotives were meant to be deployed to Ukraines temporarilyoccupied territory.
