Munition explodes in hands of radio presenter in Kyiv radio station mid-broadcast

An explosion occurred in the studio of the Army FM radio station in Kyiv on Sunday morning, 19 January.
A host mishandled an explosive device during a live broadcast.
Source Ukrainska Pravda law enforcement source Details The source reported that at around 1050 on Sunday, 19 January, in the Central House of Officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Hrushevskyi Street, an Army FM radio presenter picked up a VP9 fuze and started fiddling with it in her hands, triggering an explosion.
The source noted that the detonator had been brought to the studio earlier by one of the military guests as a mockup of a munition.
As a result of the explosion, the woman sustained shrapnel wounds to her arm and abdomen and was taken to hospital, where her condition is reported as stable.
Authorities are considering recording the incident in the Unified Register of PreTria Investigations, with a preliminary legal categorisation based on Article 263, Part 1 of Ukraines Criminal Code illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives.
