Ukrainian athletes Borkovskyi and Suprun win gold and silver at 2025 Universiade

Three Ukrainian athletes competed in the mens pursuit race at the biathlon events of the 32nd Winter Universiade in Turin, Italy.
Source Champion, a sports news platform within Ukrainska Pravdas holding company Details Bohdan Borkovskyi, who earned a bronze in the sprint, clinched first place in the mens pursuit despite four penalty laps.
With identical shooting accuracy, Serhii Suprun secured the silver medal.
Roman Borovyk, who started in 10th, dropped to 14th by the end of the race.
Vladyslav Chykhar, after finishing 26th in the sprint, did not start the pursuit.
For Borkovskyi, this is his second gold at the 2025 Winter Universiade and his third overall at these Games.
In addition to the sprint bronze, he had earlier claimed victory in the individual short race.
Suprun added a second medal to his collection, having previously won gold in the mixed relay with Oleksandra Merkushyna.
Background These are Ukraines fifth and sixth biathlon medals at the Universiade in Turin.
In addition to the medals mentioned earlier, Daryna Chalyk won bronze in the womens individual race.
