Since the start of the day on 6 January, there have been 108 combat clashes on the battlefield, with the majority of Russian assaults taking place in Russia's Kursk Oblast, where Ukraine's defence forces currently operate.

Details : In addition, on the Kharkiv front , Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled two Russian attacks in the vicinity of Vovchansk.

On the Kupiansk front , the Russians conducted three assault operations near Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Zahryzove. Two of the clashes ended, and one is still ongoing.

On the Lyman front , the Russian army attacked seven times near Nadiia, Pershotravneve and Makiivka. The fighting continues.

On the Siversk front , the Russian aircraft struck Siversk using seven guided aerial bombs. The Russians attacked Ukrainian defenders once in the vicinity of Bilohorivka.

On the Kramatorsk front , Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian attempts to advance in the vicinities of Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora and towards Stupochky. Russian troops launched 24 unguided rockets at Stupochky.

On the Toretsk front , the Russians attacked twice near Shcherbynivka.

On the Pokrovsk front , since the beginning of the day, the Russians have conducted 16 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud and Pokrovsk. Ukraine’s defence forces are holding back the Russian onslaught and have repelled 12 attacks, with four clashes still ongoing.

On the Kurakhove front , the Russians reportedly attacked seven times near Slovianka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove and Dachne. Six battles were completed, and another one is still ongoing.

On the Vremivka front , the Russians attacked the positions of Ukraine’s defence forces four times near Kostiantynopil and Kostiantynopolske. One battle is still ongoing.

On the Orikhiv front , the Russians attacked Ukrainian defenders once in the vicinity of Novodanylivka.

Background : On the night of 4-5 January, the Ukrainian defence forces launched an offensive in Kursk Oblast. In particular, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were advancing from the direction of Suzdha towards the village of Bolshoye Soldatskoye.
