Details: Journalists asked whether it was true that Mykhailo Fedorov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, declined the position of head of the President's Office.
Quote: "There are many questions about the President's Office and about the new head.
I want to stress once again that I have held several consultations with everyone you know. All of them are ready to shoulder the responsibility, no one has refused, everyone is ready to head my Office.
I have already said that there are many technical issues related to this, and I have not yet decided who will head the President's Office."
Background :
- On 28 November, Ukrainska Pravda reported that officers from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) were conducting searches at the office of Andrii Yermak, then head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in the government district.
- Zelenskyy later announced that he had accepted Andrii Yermak's resignation as head of the President's Office.
- According to Ukrainska Pravda sources, Yermak did not believe until the very last moment that he would be forced to resign. So when he was asked to write a letter of resignation, he lashed out at Zelenskyy in an emotional outburst filled with reproaches and accusations.
