Dmytro Sniehyrov, military expert and co-chairman of the Prava Sprava public initiative, stated this on Espreso TV."We need to call things by their proper names – Europe is not ready to fight for us. Kallas's proposals consist of training Ukrainian military personnel, financial support for Ukraine, and, accordingly, the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. These are not security guarantees," Sniehyrov said.According to the expert, Europe's proposals do not meet Ukraine's interests. In contrast, the U.S. offers effective security guarantees for Ukraine."Meanwhile, American security guarantees are a de facto copy of Article 5 of NATO. They primarily concern the military component of guarantees for Ukraine's territorial integrity. It is worth noting that Trump emphasizes that these should be guarantees not only from the U.S. but also from Europe. However, what we see from Europe does not correspond to Ukrainian interests. This should be discussed. Instead, we focus exclusively on criticizing U.S. policy. The situation with the U.S. is quite clear. They are not interested in the continued existence of Russia in its current form. That is why they are giving guarantees for 10 years. Thus, they make it clear that Ukraine has historical prospects for regaining territories. During this time, much can change in Russia due to physiological processes, including the death of the Russian dictator," he added. On Monday, December 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in London to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The leaders discussed joint diplomatic work with the United States. On that day, Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that the peace plan project had been reduced from 28 to 20 points. Ukraine and Europe will work together on its final version, after which the document will be sent to the United States. The Donald Trump administration is demanding a quick decision from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding a peace plan aimed at achieving a ceasefire with Russia "before Christmas" on December 25.
