Ukraine’s chief negotiator learns details of US-Russia talks during visit to US, plans to brief Zelenskyy

Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, has received information in the United States about the American delegation's meeting with Russian officials in Moscow and intends to brief President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on all aspects of the dialogue, as well as hand over the relevant documents.

The primary task of the Ukrainian team was to obtain from the American side complete information about their conversation in Moscow and all drafts of current proposals in order to discuss them in detail with the president of Ukraine.

Details : Umierov said that on 8 December he plans to provide President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with full information about all aspects of the dialogue with the US side, along with all documents.

- On 7 December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian representatives Rustem Umierov and Andrii Hnatov were on their way from the United States to Europe, where they would present him with detailed information on "the nuances the Americans are ready to modify" in negotiations with Ukraine and Russia.
- On 6 December, President Zelenskyy, together with members of the Ukrainian negotiating team Rustem Umierov and Andrii Hnatov, held talks with US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
- According to Axios, the conversation lasted two hours and the territorial issue proved "difficult".
- On 4, 5 and 6 December, Umierov and Hnatov held meetings with Witkoff and Kushner in Miami.
