US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Sunday 23 November that Washington is making certain changes to its "peace proposals" following the talks in Geneva.

Details : Rubio said at the Geneva talks the delegations had held "probably the most productive and meaningful meeting in this entire process [peace talks – ed.]".

"We have a very good work product that was already built on a foundation of input from all the relative parties involved here, and we were able to go through some of those items now, point by point. And I think we've made good progress," the secretary of state said.

He added that the delegations are currently working on "some of the suggestions that were proffered to us".

Quote: "So we're working through, making some changes in the hopes of further narrowing the differences and getting closer to something that both Ukraine and obviously the United States are very comfortable with."

• Following reports from the Ukrainian team at the Geneva talks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the US proposals may incorporate a number of elements reflecting Ukrainian perspectives that are vital to its national interests.
• The US side has also privately spoken of progress made during the Geneva negotiations.
• Andrii Yermak, Head of the Ukrainian negotiating team and Head of the Office of the President, has said the first session with the US delegation has concluded and called it "very productive", adding that a second meeting with European partners will follow later on Sunday.
