Ukrainian delegation begins work in Geneva on US "peace plan"

Ukraine's delegation, appointed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to negotiate the "peace plan" proposed by US President Donald Trump's team, has begun work in Geneva, Switzerland.

Details: Yermak said he held an initial meeting with the national security advisers to leaders of the United Kingdom, France and Germany: Jonathan Powell, Emmanuel Bonne and Günther Sautter.
He added that the next meeting would be with the US delegation.
"We are approaching this very constructively. Several meetings in various formats are planned for today. We continue working together to achieve a lasting and just peace for Ukraine," Yermak said.
Background:
- On 22 November, Zelenskyy signed a decree establishing a Ukrainian delegation for the negotiating process, headed by Andrii Yermak.
- Prior to this, Rustem Umierov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council, announced consultations with the US side in Switzerland on the US "peace plan".
- French President Emmanuel Macron said that representatives of three EU states – France, Germany and the United Kingdom – would take part in negotiations on the US-proposed "peace plan" for Ukraine on Sunday 23 November in Geneva, in order to secure a joint text that reflects the interests of the European Union.
