Details: Yaryna was from the village of Nahachiv in the Yavoriv district in Lviv Oblast, where her parents and three younger brothers still live. From her school years she stood out for her sharp mind and curiosity. Yaryna skipped a year and went straight into Year 2, and at 15 she passed exams successfully and entered National Pirogov Memorial Medical University in Vinnytsya.
"She decided that her medical education and experience would be of greater use in the military," the 156th Separate Mechanised Brigade said. "When she applied to a military enlistment office, she was initially refused, but by March she had already taken up the defence of the Motherland. She began as an orderly and later received an officer's rank."
In the army, Yaryna served as head of the medical post of the 210th Separate Assault Regiment. She used to say: "I will serve as long as my help is needed."
"Yaryna was greatly respected by her brothers-in-arms for her talent, determination, hard work and kind heart, which did not turn to stone even amid daily losses," the Yavoriv City Council said.
Yaryna dreamed of resting with her loved ones and travelling the world after Ukraine's victory. She is survived by her parents, brothers, grandmother and fiancé.
