EU holds special leaders' meeting on Ukraine and US "peace plan" on 24 November

European Council President António Costa has invited EU leaders to a special meeting on Monday 24 November focused on Ukraine and the "peace plan" drafted by Donald Trump's team.

Details: Costa spoke about leaders' discussions on Ukraine on the sidelines of the G20 summit.
Quote: "The initial draft of the 28-point plan includes important elements that will be essential for a just and lasting peace. We are ready to engage in order to ensure that a future peace is sustainable.
Work continues. I have invited all 27 EU leaders for a special meeting on Ukraine in the margins of the EU-AU Summit in Luanda on Monday."
Background:
- Leaders of European countries and EU institutions, along with the prime ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Norway, have said that the US draft "peace plan" needs further work and that they are ready to help refine it.
