Ukrainian nuclear power plants reduce output after 19 November attacks

Ukraine's nuclear power plants have been forced to reduce output since 19 November, after Russian forces struck energy facilities around the facilities.

Details : The Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants had already reduced electricity generation earlier this month due to attacks.
On 19 November, both plants further decreased their output after each lost connection to one of their high-voltage transmission lines.
IAEA teams stationed at the two sites were also forced to take shelter during morning air raids.
The Pivdennoukrainsk Nuclear Power Plant also lost connection to a high-voltage power line. The plant reported detecting 11 drones overnight, approximately one kilometre from the facility.
The IAEA has organised two new deliveries under its comprehensive assistance programme for Ukraine, bringing the total to 176 shipments since the beginning of the war.
Background : Due to Russian strikes on electrical substations critical for nuclear safety, the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants have been operating at reduced capacity for almost two weeks.
