Zelenskyy: We hope to resume prisoner exchanges with Russia by year-end

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hopes to resume prisoner exchanges with Russia by the end of the year.

Details: Zelenskyy also stated that he and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed the diplomatic situation. "Many processes have now been activated. We are striving to ensure that all activity is focused on peace – on a dignified peace, with guaranteed security. The war must end. There is no alternative to peace. Russia must understand that there can be no reward for war and killings," Zelenskyy said.
Background:
- On 15 November, Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, announced that a decision has been made to activate the Istanbul agreements, under which 1,200 Ukrainians are to be released from Russian captivity.
