U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this after a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Canada, as reported by Suspilne.According to Rubio, the U.S. has already imposed restrictions against leading Russian oil companies, and further steps will mainly focus on monitoring compliance with existing sanctions, rather than introducing new ones.Separately, the U.S. Secretary of State mentioned the fight against Russia's shadow fleet, which helps Moscow circumvent oil restrictions, and called on European partners to more actively participate in this process.Commenting on Russia's actions, Rubio stated that the Kremlin "clearly showed what it seeks – to seize the rest of the Donetsk region," which is unacceptable for Ukraine. He also emphasized that Russian missile strikes are aimed at destroying the energy grid and demoralizing the population.The Secretary of State confirmed that the U.S. is in constant negotiations with Kyiv about supporting the energy system, including the supply of equipment and defense means for its protection. At the same time, he acknowledged that the problem of rapid destruction of equipment after its installation remains.On October 22, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions against Russia's two largest oil companies, Rosneft and Lukoil, due to Moscow's unwillingness to end the war in Ukraine.
