Mandatory evacuation announced in parts of Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts

Children and their parents or legal guardians are to be mandatorily evacuated from several settlements in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.

Details: The decision was made following a meeting of the coordination headquarters for evacuation and effective response to mass population displacement. The meeting was chaired by Oleksii Riabykin, Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
The ministry's statement did not specify which settlements are subject to the mandatory evacuation.
A decision was also made to evacuate residents of institutional care facilities in Zaporizhzhia Oblast located approximately 50 km from the front line. The evacuation will be carried out with due regard to safety requirements and medical conditions and with proper supervision.
During the meeting, officials also discussed the operation of transit centres for evacuees and considered opening an additional centre in Kharkiv Oblast.
The ministry reported that since 1 June 2025, almost 124,000 people have been evacuated from frontline territories to safer regions of Ukraine, including more than 14,500 children and over 4,000 people with limited mobility.
Currently, 20 transit centres operate across several regions in Ukraine. The largest number – eight – are in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, including in the cities of Pavlohrad and Dnipro, and the villages of Stepove and Voloske. There are five in Sumy Oblast, two in Kharkiv Oblast, three in Volyn Oblast, one in Mykolaiv and one in Zaporizhzhia.
After leaving a transit centre, evacuees can use free temporary accommodation facilities (TAFs). Across Ukraine, there are 1,111 such facilities. The largest numbers are in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (135), Zakarpattia Oblast (111), Kharkiv Oblast (78), Kirovohrad Oblast (77), Lviv Oblast (68), Poltava Oblast (64), Chernivtsi Oblast (63), Vinnytsia Oblast (60), Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (60), Rivne Oblast (58) and Khmelnytskyi Oblast (57).
Background: Earlier, a mandatory evacuation of families with children was announced in the Synelnykove district in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
