American actress Angelina Jolie has revealed that during her visit to Mykolaiv and Kherson, a Russian drone flew directly over her.

Details : The actress wrote that residents of these cities live under the constant threat of attacks by Russian UAVs.

"The threat of drones was a constant, heavy presence. You hear a low hum in the sky. It's become known locally as a 'human safari', with drones used to track, hunt and terrorise people, constantly," Jolie said.

On one occasion, she and her team found themselves in the path of a drone – they had to stop and wait until it "flew overhead".

"I was in protective gear, and for me, it was just a couple of days. The families here live with this every single day," she added.

Jolie admitted that it was difficult for her to see how people in Mykolaiv and Kherson have moved their lives underground – into shelters where children now study and medical facilities operate. Nonetheless, witnessing people who are "determined that life will go on" was deeply inspiring, the actress said.

"Many people spoke to me about the psychological burden of living under continual threat — and the deeper fear of being forgotten by the world. […]

What gives me hope is the incredible courage and skill of local organisations and volunteers and those who support them. If they can find the strength, governments ought to be able to do the same," the American actress stressed.

Background : In early November it became known that Angelina Jolie had once again visited Ukraine. The Hollywood star travelled to Mykolaiv and Kherson, where residents live under constant Russian attacks.
