Details: The ministry noted that Ukraine opposes any attempts to fragment the Republic of Sudan and its state institutions. "The Sudanese people have the inalienable right to live in peace and security," the statement reads.
The ministry reaffirmed Ukraine's unwavering support for Sudan's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the development of its democratic and prosperous society.
"This is not only in the interests of the Sudanese people but will also contribute to strengthening peace, security and stability across the entire African continent," the ministry added.
Background:
- In early October, the RSF carried out an airstrike on a shelter for displaced persons in El-Fasher. According to medical and human rights groups, at least 57 civilians were killed, including 22 women, 17 children and 3 babies, while more than 2 dozen others were seriously injured.
- UN Secretary-General António Guterres said the war in Sudan is "spiralling out of control" and becoming one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
