He said this in an interview with CBS News.Trump emphasized that the U.S. has sufficient nuclear capability but shouldn’t be the only country not conducting tests.“Well, we have more nuclear weapons than any other country. And I think we should do something about denuclearization. And I did actually discuss that with both President Putin and President Xi. We have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world 150 times,” the American president emphasized. When asked why the U.S. should resume nuclear weapons testing after three decades, Trump replied that it is necessary because Russia and North Korea are doing it.“And the reason I'm saying - testing is because Russia announced that they were going to be doing a test. If you notice, North Korea's testing constantly. Other countries are testing. We're the only country that doesn't test, and I want to be - I don't want to be the only country that doesn't test,” he stressed. When reminded that officially only North Korea conducts nuclear tests, Trump replied that Russia and China are also doing so, but do not publicize it.“Russia's testing nuclear weapons. And China's testing 'em too. You just don't know about it.,” Trump noted. At the end of October, Donald Trump instructed the U.S. Department of Defense to immediately begin nuclear weapons testing “on equal terms” with Russia and China. Meanwhile, the Kremlin hopes that “the information about the Burevestnik tests was conveyed to Trump correctly.”
