Despite the special operations recently conducted by the Defense Forces, it is too early to talk about stabilizing the situation in the city.Oleksandr Musienko, a serviceman of the Territorial Defense Forces and a military analyst, stated this on Hromadske Radio."As for Pokrovsk, active hostilities are currently underway there, including in the urban area and beyond. They are quite complex. Therefore, I think it is premature to say that the situation has stabilized," he said.Speaking about whether there is a threat of encirclement of Pokrovsk, the serviceman noted that during the full-scale invasion, the threat of encirclement of certain settlements existed repeatedly, but each time it was prevented."During the full-scale invasion, while hostilities continue, we have had risks of encirclement in various directions in various settlements. This has happened repeatedly, but not once has anyone allowed encirclement. If the situation became critical for our forces, actions were taken to withdraw them. Sometimes it was difficult, sometimes with losses. But not once was it recorded that anyone remained surrounded. Therefore, I think that if the situation suddenly worsens and conditions become more difficult, then, of course, no one will make such gifts in the form of leaving our forces surrounded," he emphasized.Oleksandr Musienko added that the Defense Forces managed to take steps to stabilize the situation in other directions, in particular, in Kupiansk."In fact, we are approaching the point where, perhaps, there will be operations to push the Russian troops out of the northern part of Kupiansk, where they are located," the military analyst said.He stressed that the Donetsk region remains a priority for the Russians. The most intense battles are taking place in the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Lyman directions. In the Novopavlivka direction, the invading Russian forces want to expand their bridgehead in the Dnipropetrovsk region."In the Lyman direction, we managed to strengthen our defense a little and restrain the enemy's offensive activity. Measures are also being taken for this in Novopavlivka. But if we take almost the entire Donetsk region, the situation is difficult everywhere," added Oleksandr Musienko.On November 2, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, Ukrainian soldiers have to withstand the pressure of a multi-thousand enemy group, which continues to try to infiltrate residential areas and cut off supply routes. However, there is no encirclement or blocking of cities, the Defense Forces are doing everything to ensure logistics.According to him, a comprehensive operation to destroy and expel Russian forces from Pokrovsk is underway. The main burden is on the shoulders of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, UAV operators and assault units. Also, by his order, combined groups of the Special Operations Forces, Military Law Enforcement Service, SBU, and other units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, including the Main Intelligence Directorate, are working in the city.
