Spain to host secret Coalition of the Willing summit on Ukraine support

The Spanish publication El Mundo reported the information.Representatives from 35 countries will take part in the meeting, the outlet notes. They will gather to discuss further assistance to Ukraine.It will be an intensive working day, starting at 9 a.m. and ending after 3:30 p.m., with two blocks of discussions on providing aid to Kyiv. However, the meeting is being organized with the utmost secrecy. In particular, participants have been warned about a ban on mobile phones; they will be stored in a specially designated place.Participants were also warned that details of the meeting should not be made public."Delegates are asked not to publish information about the meeting on public platforms or on social media," states a document reviewed by the outlet.The meeting will address how to move forward with increasing support for Ukraine, how to meet its urgent financial needs, including those related to its military and defense efforts, and how to coordinate initiatives to increase pressure on Russia.Among other things, the participants aim to clarify aid priorities and reach agreements.After this, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares will deliver a report and exchange views with the participants. However, the head of Spanish diplomacy will not be present at all the working sessions, as it is a lower-level meeting.During the second block of discussions, participants will try to develop a common approach to security guarantees for Ukraine and will exchange views on current discussions on this matter. Special attention is planned to be paid to the legal, political, and diplomatic frameworks, as well as the possible contribution of the Coalition of the Willing in deterring future Russian aggression.
