Serhii Khominskyi, press officer of the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade, said this on Espreso TV."Our brigade has been operating in the east for the third year now, and personally for me, it’s my third autumn in Donetsk region — so I have something to compare. Compared to the autumns of 2023 and 2024, the enemy has only intensified its efforts, increasing the use of forces and means severalfold to achieve its goals. I want to emphasize that this autumn is markedly different in the occupiers’ attitude toward civilians and the energy and critical infrastructure of Donetsk region. In 2023 and 2024, power or water outages in Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Druzhkivka, and earlier in Kostyantynivka were rare. Now, they are a daily reality. The enemy strikes deliberately to deprive people of light, heat, and water — the most basic necessities of life," Khominskyi said.According to him, the same situation is now observed in Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Druzhkivka. As for Kostyantynivka, he noted, conditions there have become unfit for normal living — it is dangerous even to move outside."Realizing that Donetsk region cannot be brought to its knees, the enemy has decided to destroy it. In addition to targeting critical infrastructure, they regularly strike markets. For example, in Kramatorsk, a large covered market was recently hit several times — trading pavilions burned down where only civilian goods were sold. There wasn’t even a military supply store there. These were small shops run by local entrepreneurs making a living — now everything is gone. The autumn of 2025 stands out sharply from previous years precisely in the occupiers’ treatment of the civilian population. The enemy is deliberately targeting major cities of Donetsk region — Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, and Druzhkivka," Khominskyi concluded. On October 30, it was reported that Ukrainian troops pushed back Russian invaders near Nove Shakhove in Donetsk region.
