UK delivers over 85,000 drones to Ukraine in six months

The official UK government website reported the information.Defense Secretary John Healey said that this year the UK invested £600 million to supply drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. That amounts to over 85,000 UAVs, which are crucial for supporting Ukraine’s front line.Ukraine uses drones for precision strikes against Russian forces, reconnaissance, and disrupting Russian activity in the rear.“Putin’s dangerous escalation in Ukraine and across Europe must be matched by ramping up our drone production and strengthening NATO’s air defences,” Healey says.At the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Brussels on October 15, Healey will urge allies to ramp up drone production.The United Kingdom will also continue its participation in NATO’s mission to monitor Eastern Europe’s airspace until the end of the year.On October 11, Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a statement of intent to cooperate on developing battlefield technologies under a new partnership called the LYRA program.On October 12, it was reported that Ukraine and the UK will launch joint production of Octopus project interceptor drones to counter Russian Shaheds.
