U.S. ready to step up pressure on Russia — Ukraine’s PM after Washington talks

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the information on her social media.“Our dialogue with American partners is advancing dynamically. The U.S.–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund has begun its operations — an important milestone in expanding strategic economic cooperation between our countries. A few procedural decisions remain for its full-scale launch, but the first pipeline of priority projects is already forming. We are focusing on critical minerals, energy, and infrastructure, as Ukraine continues to demonstrate that it is a reliable partner for ambitious U.S.–Ukrainian investment,” Svyrydenko wrote.According to the Prime Minister, they also discussed cooperation to strengthen Europe’s energy security.“Russia must be deprived of every lever of influence over our partners and every remaining source of revenue that sustains its war. Ukraine has presented clear proposals for achieving this together with our allies — with European and transatlantic unity at the core,” Svyrydenko added.The parties also discussed sanctions against Russia.“I appreciate Secretary Bessent’s commitment to working closely with G7 partners to intensify pressure on the aggressor and to block all channels that continue to finance Russia’s war through its oil trade,” according to a statement by the American side.
