"Kill zone" on Ukrainian front line now extends 10 kilometres – Ukraine's commander-in-chief

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has reported that strike drones have expanded the "kill zone" on the front line, which now reaches 10 kilometres.

Quote: "At the current stage of the war, the realities of the battlefield are defined by strike drones, and the 'kill zone' now extends up to 10 kilometres. Under such conditions, the ability to evacuate the wounded promptly becomes critically important, highlighting the role of logistics and military medicine. We must view this war through the prism of the needs of the Ukrainian infantry soldier – to protect their life and health."
Details: Syrskyi said he had held a monthly meeting on medical support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the meeting, he heard a "detailed report" on the use of innovative tools by the medical service of the 106th Separate Territorial Defence Brigade. These include professional consultations provided by doctors from rear hospitals to soldiers in combat areas using portable FMC systems.
Quote: "This system enables secure online consultations with data transmission for ECG, dermatoscopy, ultrasound and otoscopy when there is a significant distance between the combat zone and hospitals or medical facilities with specialist doctors."
Details: Syrskyi reported that the first batch of such equipment had already been delivered to military units and that there have already been results from its adoption.
Quote: "The experience gained should be scaled and implemented across the military. This includes the use of information and communication technologies, the evacuation of wounded soldiers from the battlefield using ground-based robotic systems, and other technological and organisational solutions."
More details: According to Syrskyi, work is also ongoing to digitalise the recording of medical assistance for service members. Paperwork is being reduced, and patients are being freed from unnecessary bureaucratic procedures.
