The Belarusian human rights group Viasna reported the information.According to human rights activists, at least 88 people have been taken into custody in the so-called Hajun case, though the actual number of detainees may be much higher. Most arrests have been recorded in the Gomel region, although detentions are occurring across the country.“Since the beginning of September, 68 people convicted of ‘promoting extremism’ have been added to the ‘Extremist List.’ This is more than a third of all people added to the list during this period. Some of these individuals are suspects in the Hajun case, whose identities are unknown to human rights activists,” the report says.Trials of suspects are held almost daily — defendants are sentenced either to “an open-type correctional facility with referral” or to a penal colony. Some cases are transferred from Minsk to regional courts. On February 7, 2025, the monitoring group Belarusian Hajun announced the suspension of its activities due to an unauthorized system breach, which allowed unknown parties to access information from its chat bot.
