Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken on the phone with US President Donald Trump for the second time in two days.

Quote : "I have just spoken with US President Donald Trump – for the second time in two days – and today's conversation was also very productive.

Yesterday, we agreed on a set of topics to discuss today, and we covered all the aspects of the situation: defence of life in our country, strengthening our capabilities in air defence, resilience, and long-range capabilities. We also discussed many details related to the energy sector. President Trump is well informed about everything that is happening."

Details : Zelenskyy added that he and Trump have agreed to continue the dialogue and that "our teams are doing their preparations".

Background :

• On 11 October, Zelenskyy spoke with Trump by phone. Media reports indicate that one of the topics of conversation was the possibility of Ukraine obtaining Tomahawk long-range missiles.
• In his evening address on 11 October, Zelenskyy said that during talks with Trump, he received signals that the United States is considering opportunities to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine.
