The first military equipment provided for under the agreement between the United States and NATO within the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism has already arrived in Ukraine, and further deliveries are expected soon.

Details: The source said that more aid packages are already "on the way". At this stage, four packages have been financed under the PURL mechanism.

Background:

• Previously, US President Donald Trump's administration confirmed that Ukraine will soon, for the first time, receive aid from NATO allies from US stockpiles under the PURL mechanism.
• Earlier, Reuters reported, citing two sources, that the first packages of American military aid for Ukraine were approved by Trump’s administration and may be dispatched soon.
• On 17 September, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the two military aid packages under the PURL mechanism will include missiles for Patriot and Himars air defence systems.
