Diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi said this in an interview with Antin Borkovskyi, host of the Studio West program on Espreso TV."You should not overestimate Russian potential, and even more — you should not overestimate the situation with China’s armed potential. Over the course of this year about a dozen and a half senior commanders of the People’s Liberation Army of China’s command staff were dismissed. In March, during an inspection it was found that some of the liquid-fuel missiles that were being moved across Tiananmen Square had water in them. I won’t even mention the readiness of these forces to conduct combat operations," the diplomat commented.According to him, it must be clearly understood that an army for war and an army for parade are two completely different armies. Therefore, in this respect one should not overestimate the potential China demonstrated at the parade."Moreover, it should be understood that China has another problem related to ensuring the so‑called nuclear balancing; accordingly, the PRC is directing its resources there. Although China’s influence on the situation is very serious, because it has worked with the Russian Federation all these years, and this needs to be paid attention to," Bezsmertnyi noted. On September 3, the Chinese army demonstrated its newest intercontinental ballistic missile, the DF-61, at a military parade.
