Yonhap reported the information, citing intelligence sources.According to Seoul, North Korea is considering sending around 6,000 additional troops to Russia as part of a third wave of deployment for the war in Ukraine. Since October last year, Pyongyang has already dispatched roughly 13,000 fighters, along with weapons, to support Russia’s armed forces.Pyongyang has been actively deepening military cooperation with the Kremlin. In the summer of 2024, the two sides signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement. By autumn, reports emerged that North Korea had transferred about 15,000 soldiers to Russia, concentrating them on the Kursk front.South Korean intelligence says that it is on this front where North Korean troops have suffered heavy losses — roughly 4,700 casualties, including 600 killed.Weapons and notes left on deceased North Korean troops in Russia provide Ukraine with insight into their psychology, as well as evidence of their rapid adaptation to contemporary warfare.
