Kyiv convenes emergency Ukraine–NATO Council meeting after Russian strikes

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced the meeting.“An extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council will be held today in Brussels at the request of Ukraine and in response to Russia’s recent massive air attacks,” Sybiha said.The agenda includes a dialogue on joint steps to counter the Kremlin’s rejection of peace efforts and its escalation of terror against Ukrainians."We are grateful to NATO and all allies who continue to show strong support for Ukraine and meaningful peace efforts. Moscow must feel a stronger pressure as the consequence of it prolonging the war," Sybiha concluded.On the evening of August 27, Russian forces launched drones and missiles against Ukraine. Twenty-five people were killed in Kyiv, and 53 others were wounded.
