Member of Parliament and former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Valentyn Nalyvaichenko said this on air with Espreso.“About the kill lists. Yes, such lists exist at the disposal of the aggressor — the Russian Federation: lists for liquidation, arrests, and deportation from Ukraine of political figures, prominent patriots, and volunteers since the very first month of Russia’s full-scale aggression. That’s the first thing I want to state clearly. I also believe that, following the political assassination of Mr. Andriy Parubiy, it is time for the authorities and the heads of Ukraine’s law enforcement agencies to publish these lists,” he said.Nalyvaichenko emphasized that the main question is what measures have been taken to prevent such assassinations during martial law: “The SBU, the National Police, and the State Security Directorate must ensure that no further political killings happen, like the one in Lviv in broad daylight. That is why these lists matter and why their publication is important.”He also stressed the need to carefully review statements from volunteers, patriots, and politicians who report threats to their lives. “It’s not about assigning a bodyguard to everyone, that’s unprofessional. It’s about perimeter security, networks, counterintelligence, and technology. Ukrainian services know how to do this, but what’s needed is political will and clear orders,” Nalyvaichenko noted. On August 30, around noon, civic and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv. The assailant fired about eight shots from a handgun. Prosecutors are investigating a possible Russian trace and say there is no connection to the killing of linguist Iryna Farion in Lviv last year. After Parubiy’s murder, MP Volodymyr Ariev from the European Solidarity party stated that Parubiy had asked for state protection six months earlier but was denied.
