Volodymyr Dzhydzhora, Vice President of the United Confederation of Reserve Officers of NATO Countries and adviser to the EU and NATO Department of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2019-2021), said this in The World and Us project with Yevhen Mahda."I was positively surprised by the speed with which European leaders adapted in order to achieve strategic goals, both for the Alliance and for its partners—first and foremost for Ukraine—in their communication and interaction with Trump and his entourage. They realized that previous schemes, methods of interaction, consultations, and partnerships were not as effective as personal contact, which is sometimes and often actually emotional, including playing along with Trump’s personal preferences and interests," he said.Volodymyr Dzhydzhora noted that the heads of European countries have adjusted their approach to interacting with the American leader."For example, the President of Finland visited him, played golf, and in principle resolved several strategic issues. European leaders quickly adapted. They did not change their policies, but rather adjusted their talking points and their interaction algorithms, without changing their strategies. And this is something we constantly emphasize, at least in the reserve confederations, that NATO lacks adaptability in military terms. NATO’s military should learn from their politicians, and these people have truly impressed me. This quick adaptability has proven to be extremely effective," the diplomat noted.U.S. President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy on June 25 at the NATO summit in The Hague.
