US President Donald Trump has urged Russia to take steps to end its full-scale war against Ukraine.

Details: In his post, Trump wrote that "Russia has to get moving".

"Too many people ere [sic] DYING, thousands a week, in a terrible and senseless war - A war that should have never happened, and wouldn’t have happened, if I were President!!!" he added.

The US president, however, did not specify how he would encourage Russia to "get moving" to end the war.

Background: 

• Trump, who has promised a quick ceasefire in Ukraine, has been increasingly expressing dissatisfaction with Moscow's actions in recent days.
• In particular, he said he was "very angry" after Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin questioned the legitimacy of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and was outraged by Russian attacks against Ukrainian cities.
• Meanwhile, media reports suggested that senior Trump administration officials have begun to acknowledge that the US may not be able to reach a peace deal on Ukraine in the next few months due to additional conditions imposed by Moscow during negotiations.
