Hungary has expectedly refused to sign the Ukrainerelated section of conclusions of the latest EU summit.
Source European Pravda, citing an EU official Details The section of the summits conclusions on Ukraine, supported by 26 member states, will be published as a separate document.
Hungary has refused to sign the Ukrainian section of the EU summit conclusions and it will be published as a separate document with 26 signatures, the EU official said.
The source also noted that during the summit, the leaders and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the frontline situation and the outcome of the USled negotiations.
The EU leaders have come to a common position stating that there are currently no negotiations with Russia.
They also exchanged views on how the EU and Ukraine can influence this process, the official said.
The leaders first discussed the situation with Zelenskyy and then continued to talk about Ukraine among themselves.
In total, the discussion lasted 2 hours.
Background On 6 March, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbn refused to sign the conclusions of the extraordinary European Council meeting on support for Ukraine, leading to 26 out of 27 EU member states approving the text.
On 18 March, Hungarys Minister for EU Affairs, Jnos Bka, publicly confirmed earlier on Tuesday that Hungary would not support the European Councils conclusions on assistance to Ukraine, as they contradict Budapests strategic interests.
