American billionaire Elon Musk has called for sanctions to be imposed on the ten richest Ukrainian oligarchs.

According to Forbes, the richest Ukrainians as of April 2024 were Rinat Akhmetov US4 billion Viktor Pinchuk US2 billion Vadym Novynskyi US1.2 billion Kostiantyn Zhevago US1.2 billion Hennadii Boholiubov US1 billion Ihor Kolomoiskyi US1 billion as of 2023.
Ukrainian sanctions were imposed on four of the six billionaires.
In December 2022, Ukraines National Security and Defence Council imposed sanctions on Vadym Novynskyi.
On 12 February 2025, sanctions were imposed on Zhevago, Boholiubov and Kolomoiskyi.
Additionally, sanctions were placed on Ukraines fifth president, Petro Poroshenko.
Furthermore, US sanctions have been in effect against Ihor Kolomoisky since 2021.
