Presidentelect Donald Trump has pledged to delay the ban on the Chinese platform TikTok after his inauguration on 20 January and wants the United States to acquire 50 ownership of the company.

Details Trump proposed that the US take a 50 ownership in a joint venture, which he believes will secure TikToks future, ensure acceptable management, and assist its growth.
He stressed that TikToks success hinges upon US approval, stating that with such an agreement, the platform could be worth hundreds of billions, if not trillions of dollars.
Trumps plan entails forming a joint venture with existing or new stakeholders, with the US holding a substantial share.
Background TikTok became unavailable in the United States on 18 January as a result of a nearly a yearold rule that required the platform to break away from its Chinese owner or face a ban.
Trump has taken a more positive posture towards TikTok, recently stating that he sees no need to abandon the platform and even highlighting his impressive reach metrics.
Trumps nominee for national security advisor, Mike Waltz, has claimed that the presidentelect will find a way to keep TikTok available in the United States.
