Moldovas Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded angrily to Kremlin adviser Nikolai Patrushev after he said Chiinus antiRussian policy could lead to Moldova either becoming part of another state or ceasing to exist entirely.
Source European Pravda citing online Moldovan media outlet Newsmaker Details In an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, Patrushev blamed the Moldovan government for the countrys energy crisis, urging Chiinu to stop deceiving itself and its people and to admit its mistakes and rectify the situation.
Quote from Patrushev I do not rule out that Chiinus aggressive antiRussian policy will result in Moldova either becoming part of another state or ceasing to exist altogether. Quote from Moldovas Foreign Ministry Such statements constitute unacceptable interference in our countrys internal affairs and are aimed at destabilising the region.
The Republic of Moldova is a sovereign state that is consistently pursuing the path of democracy and European integration in line with the will of its citizens.
Background Moldovas Foreign Minister Mihai Popoi recently said he would no longer be commenting on anything Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova says about his country, as her remarks have no diplomatic relevance.
Zakharova frequently comments on developments in Moldova and other European countries, accusing them of Russophobia.
Her views on Chiinu are often undiplomatic or blatantly hostile, including referring to Moldova as an appendage of the Kyiv regime.
